Huguenot History
I found it quite difficult to piece together for myself a simple understanding of the suffering, courage, tenacity of these people our ancestors. Rather than attempt a brief history myself with far less scholarship than many others, I thought it might be helpful to a visitor to these pages to list some links that have moved me to saying, " Let us not forget their sacrifice and let us honour their memory with equal determination in our own lives".
A good read Huguenot heritage By Robin D.Gwynn
Website of The Huguenot Society of Great Britain
There is one site I have found which on one page, albeit a long page and with no reference to Canterbury, summarises the history, from Martin Luther in 1517 to the Edict of Toleration in 1787, as one very readable and gripping narrative by the Rev. A. Stapleton.
